The final day still has about 103 kilometres to go. From Belfort, the route crosses the Burgundian Gate into the Sundgau, using flat to gently rolling roads towards Dannemarie and Altkirch. Mulhouse then brings the canal, city traffic and industrial history into the stage. East of the city, the ride settles down again: Harth forest, straight roads, the Rhine canal and the crossing into Germany near Neuenburg. In the Markgräflerland, vineyards, villages and the edge of the Black Forest come into view before the final kilometres into Freiburg.
