The ride starts in Brest with the Atlantic close by and the Rade de Brest behind you. The route heads east out of the city, crosses the Élorn side and runs through Daoulas towards Châteaulin. The Aulne appears there, before the road climbs again and cuts south through the rolling Finistère countryside. Around Quimper, the stage becomes more urban: the Odet, old streets and a few tighter turns. After that, smaller towns lead the way back to the coast. Concarneau finishes the day with its harbour, the sea and the walled Ville Close.
