Leaving the urban canyons to return to the calm west coast. The fifth stage heads northwest out of the Kuala Lumpur metropolis. Once clear of suburban traffic, the terrain flattens out entirely. The route navigates quiet backroads, cutting through palm oil estates and small rural settlements like Ijok.
As the track approaches the coast, the landscape transitions into wide river deltas. The day finishes where the Selangor River meets the sea at Kuala Selangor. The historical focal point is Bukit Melawati, a hill featuring colonial fort remnants and resident monkey colonies. At night, the massive firefly colonies lighting up the mangrove roots steal the show.
