Corfu starts the day with a short, sharp reminder that islands are rarely flat. From Agios Gordios, the route climbs straight out of the west coast and crosses the hilly south of the island. Near Agios Matthaios, Korission Lagoon sits close to the line: a shallow wetland in south-west Corfu, separated from the sea by dunes. After that, the ride becomes more functional. Lefkimmi is the ferry point, and the Corfu section ends there. The crossing to Igoumenitsa gives the day a clean break. Back on the mainland, the route follows the coast at first, then works through the hills around Plataria, Sivota and Perdika. Parga is not a flat roll-in. The final kilometres still ask for effort, before the harbour, old town and Venetian castle appear above the bay.
