From Geneva, the route first follows Lake Geneva, with the water on the right and the Jura slopes in view. Beyond Versoix and Nyon, the ride becomes quieter and the main roads fade into the background. Around Rolle and Aubonne, vineyards, small towns and open fields shape the day. The route then leaves the lake and turns into the Vaud countryside. The hills become gentler, the villages more rural and the traffic lighter. Towards Yverdon-les-Bains, the landscape opens again as Lake Neuchâtel comes closer.
