Day 1 rolls out from the edge of Palma’s cathedral straight to the Badia de Palma. The first stretch stays close to the water: Portixol, Can Pastilla, Platja de Palma and S’Arenal pass quickly. After that, the route leaves the hotel strip and climbs onto the dry coastal road towards Cap Blanc. The promenade is gone; in its place come garrigue, stone walls, wind and open views across Mallorca’s flat south. After roughly 49 kilometres, the stage ends in S’Estanyol de Migjorn, with a small harbour, rocky coast and the sea right there.
