A rapid sprint out of Rijeka kicks off along the sweeping curves of the coastal road, heading toward the dramatic bay of Bakar. The asphalt outlines steep cliffs where historic dry stone terraces once yielded sparkling wine grapes. Pacing remains fast over the undulating topography.
Crossing the high bridges near Kraljevica, the track bypasses old Frankopan fortresses and offers glimpses of the massive concrete arches of the Krk Bridge. Moving onto the Crikvenica Riviera, the terrain features quiet coastal tracks through Jadranovo. The stage closes with a smooth rollout into the lively waterfront of Crikvenica.
