The Llogara Pass is the point of the day, not a detail on the profile. From Vlorë, the route first follows the bay south; the Karaburun Peninsula stays on the sea side, while the Ceraunian Mountains close in from the right. After Orikum and Dukat, the real climb begins. The road winds through Llogara National Park, past pines, steep slopes and views back over the bay. Reaching the top does not finish the work. The descent to Palasë is fast, exposed and more mountain road than coastal cruise. After that, the Riviera takes over: Dhërmi, Ilias, Vuno, short climbs, white stone, deep bays and very little space between mountain and sea. Himarë is the right place to stop: Ionian coast, small harbour, old village above the bay.
