The final day follows the old main route southeast for a long time. From Wickenburg, the route uses the US 60 / Grand Avenue corridor out of the Hassayampa area and first stays in open Sonoran Desert. Around Morristown, cacti, dry washes, ranch access roads and low mountain ranges sit along the road. The profile is not difficult, but the distance is long and the road is often wide and exposed. Toward Surprise and Sun City, the day changes clearly: desert turns into suburbia, with housing developments, golf courses, shopping streets, traffic lights and more vehicles. Through Peoria and Glendale, Grand Avenue cuts diagonally across the street grid. The final kilometres run through denser urban areas, canals, commercial zones and wide intersections into the Phoenix area.
