Leaving Würzburg, the stage first climbs out of the Main basin. The route gains elevation early and leaves the city over the western hills before continuing through fields, small woods and villages toward the Tauber. Near Tauberbischofsheim, it reaches the Main-Tauber district; after that, the day becomes more rural, more rolling and clearly less urban. Long stretches across open plateaus follow, mixed with short forest sections and villages where traffic usually spreads out well. Further south, the route approaches the Jagst valley. Around Möckmühl and Neudenau, the riding becomes smoother again, with the river nearby, small town passages and a gentler profile. The final kilometres use the Neckar corridor into Heilbronn, where country roads turn back into city traffic.
