Description

Two countries, seven days, and a monumental trajectory tracing the shift from the Mediterranean to the wild Atlantic. This 734km cross-border bikepacking journey connects the rugged Andalusian interior with Portugal’s most dramatic coastal roads. The route tackles punchy limestone climbs near El Chorro, flies through Seville's historic plains, and passes the crimson waters of Río Tinto beneath ancient fortress walls. Crossing the international border over the Guadiana River, the track dives into the rolling Barrocal hills of the Algarve before the queen stage crosses the Monchique range toward the ocean. The grand finale strings together two scenic ferry crossings, the cliffs of Serra da Arrábida, and a triumphant finish along Lisbon’s iconic Tagus waterfront. Skip fragmented research and broken tracks. Rogonneur brings everything together—curated GPS files and bike-tested logistics. Less friction, more pure momentum. Heavy, knobby treads are unnecessary ballast, allowing for maximum rolling efficiency across the expansive flat sectors. The topography unfolds as a strategic mix ...
