Sagres drops away quickly behind you. The route heads north on the open N268, first steady, then rising in small steps to Vila do Bispo. After that, the road turns more rural: scattered houses, low stone walls, dry pasture and wind coming in from the west coast. Near Vilarinha, it drops towards Carrapateira; Amado and Bordeira are close, but the route stays above the beaches. After Bordeira, a quiet rolling stretch cuts through the inland hills before Aljezur appears, with its castle and white houses on the slope.
