Day one leaves Berlin to the west, not through the southern suburbs. From the start near Gleisdreieck/Potsdamer Platz, the route crosses Charlottenburg and heads for the Grunewald. Then water starts to shape the ride: the Havel side, Gatow/Kladow, quieter roads around Sacrow and Groß Glienicke. Beyond Fahrland, Brandenburg opens out: Uetz, Ketzin, Deetz/Roskow, fields, tree-lined roads and low Havel country. The final kilometres run straight into Brandenburg an der Havel. Around 68 km, flat, varied, and very rideable.
