Braunschweig is left through its western districts before the route settles into Bördeland country: Lengede, Söhlde, fields, wind turbines and short village crossings. Near Hildesheim, church towers and the Innerste come close, then the road heads towards Nordstemmen. Marienburg Castle sits above the Leine valley before Elze and Coppenbrügge mark the shift towards the Weser Uplands. The final kilometres become greener and more rolling. Hameln finishes the day with the Weser, timber-framed houses and old-town streets.
