The ride starts with Budapest, not countryside: traffic lights, exit roads, suburbs. Only south of Pest does the day begin to settle. The route stays flat towards Ócsa, where it is worth slowing down for a moment. The old village has a Romanesque Premonstratensian church from the 12th–13th century, and nearby the protected Turján wetland begins, with reedbeds, wet meadows and traditional farmhouses. After Dabas, the stage becomes straighter and quieter. A short detour or pause at the Szent Jakab boardwalk gives you wooden planks over marshy ground before the road opens again. From there it is simple riding: small settlements, fields, few distractions. Méntelek, on the edge of Kecskemét, is not a dramatic finish — just a practical stop after the first proper push out of Budapest.
