After the quiet stop in Méntelek, the day gets useful quickly: Kecskemét is almost on the line. The route enters town close to Kossuth tér, where the City Hall and the tiled Cifrapalota give you a short hit of Art Nouveau before the ride turns back to smaller roads. South-east of the city, the Kiskunság is flat and open: Nyárlőrinc, Lakitelek, long field edges, not much shade. Around Tőserdő the Tisza starts to matter. The oxbow, floodplain woods and wet meadows near Tiszaalpár break up the straights and shift the day from farmland to river country. Near Csongrád, the road meets the Körös-torok area, with sandy banks and the Tisza bridge. From there it is a quieter run down to Mindszent, finishing right by the river at the simple beach and campsite.
