Between Budva and Durrës, the coast becomes a full day’s work. From Budva, the route follows the Adriatic through Sveti Stefan, Petrovac and Sutomore to Bar. The Paštrovići and Rumija slopes rise on the inland side; on the sea side, the road keeps giving short views of bays, resort towns and open water. Near Bar, Stari Bar is the worthwhile inland reference point, set above the coast with old walls, gates and ruined stone streets. After that, the route leaves the direct shoreline, climbs towards Vladimir and Sukobin, then crosses into Albania. Shkodër cuts the day in two: lake, Buna river, Rozafa Castle. South of town, the ride turns more practical. Lezhë, Milot, Fushë-Krujë, Vorë: wide roads, town edges, petrol stations, traffic. Durrës brings the sea back, plus one of Albania’s main Roman sites.
