Leaving the deep waters of Lake Como, this short, fast transition stage drops out of the pre-alpine foothills and ventures directly into the flat plains of Lombardy. The early kilometres roll over the gentle hills of Brianza, passing quiet Italian hamlets and historic regional estates.
With minimal elevation change, the smooth roads allow for highly efficient, high-speed cruising straight south. The countryside gradually gives way to dynamic urban infrastructure. Entering Milan, the track navigates city avenues to guide riders past the historic Sforza Castle and finish directly in front of the spectacular, white-marble gothic masterpiece of the Duomo.
