From Langtry, the route continues east on US 90. After the start, the road stays open, with low hills, ranchland and the railway never far away. The main point of the stage comes before Comstock: the crossing of the Pecos River on the Pecos River High Bridge. The overlook beside the bridge gives a clear view into the canyon and is one of the few stops on this section that is worth planning for. After that, the route stays in border country north of the Rio Grande. Near Comstock, Seminole Canyon State Park sits close to the road; beyond it, the stage becomes wider and flatter again. Before Del Rio, the Amistad Reservoir area appears, with access roads, parking areas and more traffic. The final kilometres lead into a proper town with shops, motels, rail access and the border crossing to Ciudad Acuña nearby.
