Day three skips the beaches and leaves Aljezur straight onto the N120. The first 13 kilometres do most of the work, climbing from around 20 to 240 metres into the Serra de Espinhaço de Cão. There are no sea views here: just cork oaks, pines, dry verges, long bends and very few houses along the road. After the high point, the route drops in stages towards Bensafrim. From there it heads back to Lagos.
