From Frontignan, the stage follows the narrow strip between the sea and the lagoons. Sète provides the first strong landmark, before the route continues along the Étang de Thau, passing shellfish beds, canals and wide-open water. Around Agde, dark basalt stone adds a different texture, then the landscape becomes broader and wilder: dunes, vines, saltwater and wind. Beyond Gruissan and Port-la-Nouvelle, the long lagoon passage towards Leucate begins. A day of light, salt and horizon — right on the edge of the Mediterranean.
