Lake Inawashiro comes into view beyond Fukura, with the volcanic outline of Mount Bandai rising to the north on clear days. The route follows the western side of the lake, climbing along wooded slopes before returning closer to the water. A descent then opens onto the Aizu basin. Tight bends give way to longer straights between rice fields, irrigation channels and scattered houses. Passing north of Aizu-Wakamatsu, the ride crosses the plain towards Aizubange, where the built-up streets briefly interrupt the farmland. Another stretch of rolling hills follows before the descent into Nozawa, the centre of Nishiaizu. The roughly 63-kilometre stage ends in a former post town on the Echigo Kaidō, the old trading road linking Aizu with Niigata.
