Leaving Görlitz, Day 3 picks up the border line almost immediately. The Neisse is not always directly beside the bike, but it sets the direction: north through Upper Lusatia, pine forest, villages and long quiet stretches. Beyond Görlitz, the road quickly loses the city and rolls over small rises into more open country. Bad Muskau is the strongest marker of the day: parkland, castle setting, Pückler history and the border written into the landscape. After that, the route becomes flatter and longer. Forst adds another town section with the rose garden and the Neisse close by, before the line continues toward Guben. The stage finishes across the river in Gubin, on the Polish side. 114 km, a lot of edge country, a lot of straight road.
