From Moliets-Plage, the route stays in the rhythm of the Landes: pine forest, flat cycle paths, sandy ground and surf towns such as Vieux-Boucau, Hossegor and Capbreton. At Bayonne, it crosses the Adour; after that, the coast becomes tighter and more urban. Biarritz, Bidart and Saint-Jean-de-Luz add cliffs, bays and Basque houses to the day. Beyond Hendaye and Irun, France is behind you. The final kilometres to Donostia/San Sebastián are hillier, greener and clearly Basque, ending at La Concha Bay.
