The day begins with the ferry across the Bassin d’Arcachon. From Arcachon, the route passes La Teste and the Dune du Pilat before entering the long pine forests of the Landes. Towards Biscarrosse, the ride switches between cycle paths, sandy ground, lakes and straight forest sections. Further south, it runs through Mimizan and Contis, mostly flat, often exposed to wind, with short turns towards the beach. After Léon, Moliets-Plage is close: surf town, dune access and Atlantic surf at the finish.
