After Ragusa, the route is fully inland. The stage starts with a noticeable climb out of town, then settles into a rolling profile for most of the day. The road crosses upland Sicily: fields, dry-stone walls, isolated farms and long stretches with little town traffic. Around the Chiaramonte Gulfi and Roccazzo area, the landscape opens up without becoming empty; this is agricultural Sicily, with olives, vineyards and wide views across the hills. In the middle section, the ride is less about one single sight and more about the road’s rhythm: climb, crest, short descent, then another climb. Toward the end, the route approaches Caltagirone. The town sits higher, so the finish still asks for work. The reward is concrete: Baroque streets, ceramic details and the Santa Maria del Monte staircase.
