North of Ostrołęka, the route enters Kurpie, a region known for its timber buildings and local crafts. Villages, meadows and small woods alternate through Lelis and Lipniki. In Łyse, the wooden church of St Anne stands out with its two towers, built by local carpenters in the 19th century. Beyond Zalas, the settlements become smaller and the stretches of forest grow longer. The road through Turośl leads into Puszcza Piska, the extensive woodland of southern Masuria, where pines line the route and clearings reveal scattered farms. This is an approximately 81-kilometre day with little climbing and extended stretches between the villages. Pisz brings the stage back to the waterside: the Pisa flows through town, close to the red-brick town hall and the streets around the centre.
