From the harbour in Vannes, the route first follows the edge of the Gulf of Morbihan, then runs through Theix and Muzillac on small roads, past hedges, villages and short climbs. At La Roche-Bernard it crosses the Vilaine; after that the land opens and flattens. Pontchâteau and the edge of the Brière bring canals, meadows and wide views. From Savenay, the ride moves towards the Loire. The final kilometres pass Couëron and Indre before Nantes arrives with river paths, shipyards, bridges and city streets.
