Day 1 begins inside Vienna’s urban fabric and works its way east: broad streets, the Danube Canal nearby and city traffic first, then more space towards the Lobau. Beyond Vienna, the route turns flat and green. The Danube-Auen National Park shapes many kilometres with floodplain forest, embankments, side channels and long riverside paths. Around Carnuntum and Hainburg, Roman history and old town edges enter the ride before the Slovak border. The final kilometres lead into Bratislava, with the castle, the Danube and the old town waiting at the finish.
