Leaving Zurich, the route heads south, escaping the urban fringe. The first challenge arrives immediately: a crisp climb up the Albis Pass ridge, topping out at 790 metres. The summit provides wide views before a fast descent drops down to the calm shores of Lake Zug.
Smooth lakeside roads allow efficient, fast rolling toward Küssnacht. Here, the landscape shifts as the track meets the spectacular edge of Lake Lucerne. Hugging the deep blue water right beneath the massive vertical rock faces of Mount Rigi, the route glides effortlessly through Weggis and Vitznau. The day concludes in the historic lakeside village of Gersau.
