This four-day Alpine route runs from Interlaken to Lugano, crossing from Lake Brienz over the Grimsel, Furka and Gotthard into Ticino. The first stage follows the southern shore of Lake Brienz past Iseltwald, Giessbach and Brienz before entering the Haslital. The Grimsel Pass comes next, with the Aare, dam walls, granite and Totesee. Day three links the Furka and Gotthard, passing Gletsch, the Rhône Glacier area, Andermatt, Hospental and the cobbled Tremola descent to Airolo.
