Day two leaves Aix on small roads below Montagne Sainte-Victoire. Vineyards, pale limestone and pine trees shape the first section towards Puyloubier, Pourrières and Pourcieux. Around Saint-Maximin-la-Sainte-Baume, the route briefly turns more urban, with the large basilica as the main landmark. Afterwards, quieter hills, woodland and villages such as La Roquebrussanne and Forcalqueiret set the pace. Near Collobrières, the Massif des Maures begins: cork oaks, chestnut trees, tight bends.
