Day seven leaves Murcia’s huerta behind through irrigation channels, orchards and small towns on the city’s edge. The route soon turns drier and rougher. Around Alhama, Totana and the lower slopes of Sierra Espuña, broad plains, pine-covered hills and pale rock faces shape the ride. Further south, quiet inland roads lead towards the coast. Near Águilas, the Mediterranean returns to view, and the final kilometres roll between bare hills, beaches and the Castillo de San Juan into the harbour town.
