The road climbs above 550 metres almost straight out of Bad Marienberg, then descends through Weitefeld into the Daade valley. Alsdorf leads to Betzdorf and the River Sieg. From Kirchen, the route follows the Asdorf valley along long sections of a former railway line. Its steady gradients leave time to take in the wooded slopes and villages beside the stream. In Freudenberg’s Alter Flecken, whitewashed walls and dark timber frame rows of houses beneath slate roofs. The route then slips through the Hohenhain railway tunnel, almost 400 metres long. Further on, the preserved Wendener Hütte ironworks stands beside the route. The Bigge guides the final kilometres into Olpe, at the southern end of the Biggesee reservoir, after a ride of around 60 kilometres.
