The route leaves Beaufort by climbing straight to Col des Saisies. The road runs through the Beaufortain, passing Alpine pastureland, scattered chalets and open views back into the surrounding mountains. After the pass, it descends via Notre-Dame-de-Bellecombe and Flumet towards the Val d’Arly before reaching Megève, where the scenery shifts towards classic Savoyard resort country: well-kept façades, broad mountain views and a more settled valley atmosphere. Beyond Sallanches and Cluses, the terrain drops lower but does not become flat. The route climbs again through Taninges to Les Gets, then continues to Morzine. From there it follows the Dranse valley, with wooded slopes, villages and a gradually wider valley floor. At Amphion-les-Bains, the day ends on Lake Geneva.
