The Atlantic coastline continues to dictate the flow of this longer transition stage. Leaving Chipiona behind, smooth tarmac tracks past Rota into the historic Bay of Cádiz. The route loops around the wide salt marshes of the local natural park via El Puerto de Santa María.
Further south, the landscape shifts as the track reaches the rugged sandstone cliffs of Conil. While the white hilltop village of Vejer towers in the distance, the profile stays flat, tracking the low banks of the Barbate River instead of climbing the ridges.
The day wraps up in the fishing port of Barbate. Located right beside the dense La Breña pine forests, this stage concludes with the prospect of fresh, world-renowned Almadraba tuna.
