This is a long day, and the route is honest about it. From Novi Bračin, it goes through Ražanj and Aleksinac into the Morava corridor. The first half is working road rather than sightseeing road: small towns, fields, petrol stations, access roads, the slow approach to Niš. In Niš, the stop is obvious. The route passes almost directly by the fortress; the centre is just beyond it, while the Skull Tower sits a little east of the line. South of Niš, the road follows the main line towards Leskovac. That is the place to eat properly: Leskovac is known for roštilj and its Roštiljijada grill festival. After that, the day changes. Past Leskovac, the valley narrows into Grdelica Gorge, with Predejane as a useful finish in the Južna Morava valley.
