After the long run into Cuneo, Day 7 is shorter, but it is not a filler stage. The route leaves the city’s raised plateau and follows the Stura di Demonte into the Maritime Alps. Beyond Borgo San Dalmazzo, the valley starts to narrow; near Roccasparvera, rock faces and old walls sit closer to the road. Gaiola, Moiola and Demonte set the pace with river bends, small villages and a steady rise. The final kilometres feel more alpine, ending in Vinadio below the heavy outline of Forte Albertino.
