Enschede is where the Dutch part fully begins. The route crosses Twente towards Goor and Markelo, using flat bike paths, tree-lined roads, farmhouses and small town centres. Near Deventer, the IJssel enters the ride; after that, the road continues via Apeldoorn into the Veluwe. This is the main change of the day: more forest, sandy ground, short climbs and fewer buildings. Beyond Kootwijk, the landscape opens again. The final kilometres run through the Gelderse Vallei into Amersfoort, ending with canals, city gates and brick streets.
