From Entraunes, the route follows the Var through Guillaumes into the Gorges de Daluis. Dark red cliffs drop towards the river, while short tunnels carry the road high above the water. Further downstream, Entrevaux appears beneath its hilltop citadel. Beyond Puget-Théniers, the route leaves the valley and climbs over the Col de Saint-Raphaël towards Ascros, returning to more than 1,100 metres. A road high on the hillside continues to Toudon before descending through Gilette towards the lower Var. The Mediterranean finally opens into view beyond the suburbs, beside the airport. The last kilometres follow the Promenade des Anglais into Nice. After roughly 130 kilometres, the journey ends beside the water, with pebble beaches, palms and the old town’s façades in sight.
