This stage stays on US 190 for almost the entire day. From Eunice, the route heads east across flat Cajun Prairie country: fields, drainage ditches, scattered houses, small roadside businesses and long straight sections. Lawtell and Opelousas are the first clear place markers. In Opelousas, the route crosses the I-49 corridor; after that, it becomes more rural again. Port Barre sits on Bayou Courtableau and is the last larger stop before Krotz Springs. There, the route crosses the Atchafalaya River on the US 190 bridge. It is the main feature of the day: heavy traffic, wide road, river, industrial ground and no place to drift. East of the bridge, the road stays flat and direct. Livonia is a practical stage finish with roadside services.
