Description

Shorter on paper, but not without character. The stage first follows the Valdarno: Montevarchi, San Giovanni Valdarno, Figline and Incisa sit between the Arno, railway lines, fields and flat riverside sections. The route then leaves the valley and climbs towards San Donato in Collina. Olive groves, vines and smaller roads replace the faster plain. The descent via Bagno a Ripoli brings Florence gradually into view, until the dome, old town and Arno take over the finish.
