Genova does not end cleanly; it stretches out through hillside suburbs: Quarto, Quinto, Nervi. Then the road tightens and sits above the sea. Bogliasco, Sori and Recco are down below between bridges, railway and rock. Near Camogli, the GPX climbs hard, not into Portofino itself, but over the ridge behind it. From the top, there are short views of capes, bays and stacked roofs. The route then drops to Rapallo, continues through Chiavari and Lavagna, and finishes in Sestri Levante between its two bays.
