East of Genoa, the road links one small bay after another through Nervi, Bogliasco and Recco. The climb to Ruta leads over the headland before a descent into Rapallo, where a small stone fortress stands in the water. Zoagli, Chiavari and Lavagna lead onwards to Sestri Levante. Here the route turns inland for the Passo del Bracco, trading seafront promenades for wooded bends and scattered villages. Beyond Carrodano, another sustained climb reaches the hills above the Cinque Terre. Near Soviore, the coast comes back into view before the final winding descent towards Vernazza. Terraced slopes and woodland surround the approach, with colourful houses gathered around the harbour below. At roughly 109 kilometres, this is a demanding day of coastal roads and repeated climbs.
