The route climbs straight into the backcountry behind Grasse. Peymeinade and Saint-Cézaire-sur-Siagne bring small roads, stone walls and early views across the Siagne valley. After that, the ride becomes quieter: Montauroux, Fayence and Seillans sit among terraces, pines and pale rock. Further west, forest, cork oaks and the smaller villages of the Var take over. Bargemon and Claviers mark the final section before the road rises to Comps-sur-Artuby, just below 900 metres — rougher and far more remote than the coast.
