Beyond Győr, the plain opens quickly. The route heads south-west out of the city on long roads through fields, small settlements and flat sections of the Kisalföld. Around Tét and towards Pápa, the riding stays fast but the distance adds up; Pápa gives the day its clearest town stop, with baroque streets, squares and old façades. After that, western Hungary becomes more detailed: gentle rises, patches of woodland and villages between farmland and the Zala hills. The final kilometres lead into Zalaegerszeg with a proper long day already done.
