Macclenny is left behind quickly. The stage then follows US 90 east, first through Glen St. Mary, Baldwin and the western edge of Jacksonville. The opening kilometres still feel small-town and rural: low buildings, pines, driveways, the railway and broad road edges. In Jacksonville, the day becomes denser. Beaver Street and Union Street lead into the urban area, with businesses, junctions, traffic and the crossing of the St. Johns River. Beach Boulevard takes over for the final part of the route. The ride to the coast is direct, but fully urban: traffic lights, shopping strips, side streets, bridges over waterways and steady traffic. The finish is Jacksonville Beach, with 1st Street, the pier area and the Atlantic Ocean directly ahead.
