From Marianna, the route continues east on US 90. The opening kilometres stay typical for the inland Panhandle: pines, fields, scattered houses, driveways and long straight sections. At Chattahoochee, the road crosses the Apalachicola River and enters the eastern part of the stage. Gretna, Quincy and Midway follow, with small town centres, the railway, courthouse areas, fuel stops and wider road edges. The profile is not difficult, but over 112 kilometres the crests and dips add up. After Midway, traffic increases, access roads become more frequent, and the Tallahassee area begins. The final kilometres lead into Florida’s capital, with university surroundings, downtown streets and reliable services at the finish.
