Ulm is left behind soon after the Danube. The route runs through Upper Swabia via Laupheim and Biberach an der Riß: wide fields, small woods, farmsteads, chapels and gentle rises that keep the legs working. Around Bad Waldsee, the landscape turns greener. Weingarten and Ravensburg add towers, old streets and a busier section before the road heads towards Markdorf. From there, Lake Constance starts to show in the terrain: orchards, vines, first lake views. The stage ends in Meersburg, among steep lanes above the water.
