The day leaves Shkodra across the wide plain south of the lake. Fields, canals, small villages and distant mountains to the east shape the first section towards Lezhë. There, the castle, river and town move briefly closer to the route before it continues via Milot and Laç through flat agricultural terrain. Further south, the hills of Krujë appear on the horizon around Fushë-Krujë. The final kilometres become more urban: suburbs, traffic, industry, then Durrës with its harbour, Adriatic waterfront and Roman amphitheatre.
